Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, on the triumph
“Yes, the boys gave a fantastic performance. They are a good team. We made better use of the circumstances. We made use of the wind and the longer side of the ground. Obviously more difficult fielding conditions. With their aggressive batting, Devon and Allen turned the chase in our favour. Such a performance was necessary. Allen’s ability to play is incredible. There were ten days on the wicket. Since the beginning of this tri-series, we have been playing here. It was impressive to see him bat in that manner on a used surface.”
Babar Azam, Pakistan’s captain, speaks
“The pitch seemed to be a little slower. We’ll do considerably better in the following game. We have a day off now, so we will need to talk about a lot of stuff. We have committed numerous errors. Undoubtedly an awful day. Our performance was lacking. Black Caps deserve praise for the manner they played.”
Bracewell, the game’s MVP, talks
“I haven’t used this one yet, yeah. I’ll have it at a later time. It’s challenging to bowl on a powerplay when there are just two fielders left, let alone when facing elite batters. Fortunately, a few bullets found their way directly to the fielders.”
