Mumbai: The producers of the movie “Thank God” have made some alterations in an effort to avoid legal repercussions after receiving criticism from various quarters following the release of the trailer.
The character names of Ajay Devgn’s Chitragupt and his colleague Yamdoot have been changed from Chitragupt to CG and YD, respectively, in the movie.

The Indra Kumar-directed movie is allegedly offensive to religious feelings, according to a court petition that was filed in UP and a police complaint that was made in Rajasthan.

Additionally, a Supreme Court petition was submitted asking for a stay of the movie’s release. The matter will be heard by the top court on November 21 despite its refusal to be listed on urgent notice.

On October 25, “Thank God” will be released in time for Diwali.

The main criticism was directed at the use of Chitragupta, the Hindu deity of books and records, as it was shown in the movie.

The directors have also made a few other changes. A disclaimer has been added at the opening of the movie, the logo of a liquor company has been blurred, and the angle of a temple scene has been adjusted.

On October 25, the Diwali holiday, the movie “Thank God,” which also stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, will be released in theatres. The movie and Ram Setu, an action-adventure movie starring Akshay Kumar, will clash. According to trade insiders, both movies’ advance bookings got off to a great start on Thursday, with Ram Setu narrowly ahead.

‘Thank God’ was granted a U/A certificate by Ce on Friday. The Central Board of Film Certification issued a U/A certificate to “Thank God” on Friday (CBFC).
