Following King T’Challa’s passing, Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje strive to defend their country against interfering international powers. The heroes must work with Nakia and Everett Ross to establish a new route for their beloved homeland as the Wakandans attempt to embrace their newest chapter.
A 2022 American superhero movie called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is based on the Marvel Comics superhero Black Panther. It is the follow-up to Black Panther (2018) and the 30th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it was made by Marvel Studios and released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures (MCU). Letitia Wright plays Shuri/Black Panther in the movie, which is directed by Ryan Coogler and co-written by Joe Robert Cole. Other actors include Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, Martin Freeman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Angela Bassett. Following the passing of King T’Challa, the Wakandan authorities strive to preserve their country in the movie.
After the February 2018 release of Black Panther, plans for a sequel started to take shape. In the ensuing months, Coogler bargained to take over as director once more, and Marvel Studios formally announced the sequel’s production in the middle of 2019. After Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in August 2020, Marvel decided not to recast T’Challa’s role. The title was revealed in May 2021, and other prominent cast members from the original movie were confirmed to return that November.
Initial filming took conducted in Atlanta, Brunswick, Georgia, as well as nearby areas of Massachusetts, from late June to early November 2021, with a break for Wright to recover from an injury incurred while filming. By mid-January 2022, production had resumed, and it was finished in Puerto Rico by late March.
As the last movie in Phase Four of the MCU, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had its world premiere on October 26, 2022, at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre and Dolby Theatre. It was then made available for purchase in the US on November 11, 2022. The movie garnered favourable reviews from reviewers and amassed nearly $786 million in worldwide box office revenue, ranking sixth for the year 2022.
